The Lonely Leaf

Among a sea of many, there was a single leaf
Hanging on was steady, but lonely in its grief
This leaf was no different, then others in the mass
Though it'd not admit it, it felt separate from the rest

A gust of wind passed by, uttering of reverence
Strength supplied-denied, so caught up in it's severance
Lonely,-it went on, waiting for remembrance
Sure the day would dawn, to understand a semblance

Given new perceptions, it now can see around
Gazing all directions, what it saw-did astound
All around were trees, not one of them in sight
Did not carry leaves, to block out all the light

Seeing a nearby leaf, seeming quite familiar
Stood out from the motif, gleaming of shined silver
Fluttering with grace, a simple elegance was shown
Realizing their place, the leaves were no longer  alone

Suddenly, both leaves decide to fall
They did not fight the breeze at all
Floating on the air, once again free
They had found, their true destiny

Spinning they fell
Together they came
A story to tell
For all that remain
