My Love

I am a simple man
A poor common farmer
Six ribbons left in hand
In hopes, I might charm her

I have always put my love for others, before that of myself
Never bad intent sent-that smothers, I deal with what I'm dealt
Observing through new eyes, guided by a hand inside
Unknown learning-as it defies, subdued in me-the cries

I am the darkness, here kneeling to the day
Unknown to impart this, revealing to stay
I embrace your light, comforted by the flame
Subdued to your might, I am yours to tame

Riley Erin Bennett, I now declare my love for thee
Paled in light-of night, my vow yours to forever be
Bows arrow-through my heart, taken for your woe
Under purple skies-we embark, my love for you on show

Set sail-we undergo, as I lay you down in snow
Eyes alight in your glow, our world now to grow
You-I'll never let go, whilst I still carry this bow
Crafted by a fellow-so heavenly bestowed

That look that you throw, I just can't let go
Our boat set to flow, by wind-that did blow
Taken-the high and the low, and left it on show
Your love here to know, to that-I'd never say no

We are the glimmers of light, softly beckoned into place
Upon mountain peaks fright, feeling winters embrace
Caught amidst our, silent company ties
It's no wonder, we get lost in our goodbyes
